While the complexity of the game adds to its challenge, it would have helped to have more informative FAQs in order to help figure things out near the start of the game. In addition, it would have been worthwhile to have a few more tutorials before the game started. Another aspect that our team would change about the game would be the advertising—being marketing students, we enjoy learning about the different advertising strategies marketers can use to better position their products in the vast marketplace. Perhaps in the future, Markstrat could include an advertising component that would allow students to choose specifically how they want to advertise their product. Lastly, we think that although Markstrat gave us a glimpse at real-world marketing practices, it was also too abstract. The products were vaguely described and intangible which made it less enjoyable and unclear.
