Slide 2:Below is the study area with the major aspects of infrastructure indicated on it: Major roads are Black, Railways are highlighted in Red
Residential :Residential Housing tends to be clustered around the main roads
It’s characterised by medium - high density council flats
Some traditional housing is still apparent around White Hart Lane football ground
Although refurbished, the general quality of housing feels poor
Industry :Industry The most popular types of industry in the area include; warehousing, light manufacturing, food processing.
In addition there are depots for buses and the Victoria Line
commercial :commercial There are 3 distinct commercial areas:
IKEA Edmonton and Tesco’s at the top left of the map
High Road, commercial activity (pubs/shops etc) is especially prevalent as expected around White Hart Lane
The immediate area around Northumberland Park Station, although the effect of Tesco’s on these shops is very obvious
Parks and Recreation :Parks and Recreation Tottenham Park, Bruce Castle Park and Lee Valley Park are the biggest parks in the area
There is plenty of open space in between the housing blocks, but the surface tends to be concrete rather than grass and the area feels intimidating White Hart Lane (Spurs) is at the Centre of this area, and there are many football pitches in the surrounding area
