Registration :Registration Process by which an idle mobile lets the system
know it’s awake. Registration allows mobile’s home switch to know mobile’s current location so that i/c calls can be delivered. Registration allows the system to page MS only in the area where the MS is currently located, to eliminate congestion on PCHs. Registration message(By probing) Base station ack. order
Types Of Registration :Types Of Registration Power ON When MS is turned ON
Power OFF Just before MS is turned OFF
Timer Based After a certain timer expires
Distance based If MS moves to the further cell
Zone Based If MS moves in or out of the zone
Ordered BS requests the registration
Parameter change If MS parameters change
Implicit BS infers the MS position
Traffic channel For registration in active mode First 5 are autonomous type of registration, BS informs MS at power on to resister if any of the event occur.
