AGREED Philosophy of Classroom Management : Philosophy of Classroom Management It is the teacher's responsibility to provide a structured and consistent classroom. Teachers must make their expectations of the students clear. Students need to be engaged by the teacher. AGREED Positive Learning Environment : Positive Learning Environment The teacher is consistent. I'll try next year! The classroom is clean and organized. Expectations are clearly stated because the teacher knows what she wants. Rules, consequences, and rewards are posted and practiced. Keyword: practiced! Lessons are structured yet creative. Student cooperation is encouraged once teacher control is attained. Classroom Rules : Classroom Rules Follow directions. Too vague. Raise your hand to speak or stand. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Come prepared for class. Impossible! Be respectful. Couldn't enforce! Consequences : Consequences Warning (behavior chart)? Behavior chart failed as a result of school rules. Loss of Privilege This has no meaning. What privileges? Behavior Modification Form (parent contact)? Did I really put this? Office referral My principal HATES referrals. Consequences : Consequences Warning (verbal)? Writing Assignment Corporal Punishment Office Referral Rewards : Rewards Praise -Keeping Ticket economy FAILED! Too much to do, too little time! Students receive tickets for kindness, thoughtful questions, and volunteering Students exchange tickets for classroom goods, homework, test points, and candy (ticket prices subject to inflation)? Student of the Week and Parent Calls Class Consequence and Reward : Class Consequence and Reward Each period will have a velcro strip along the wall or the back of my door. Good class behavior results in movement toward a class reward. Poor class behavior results in movement toward a class consequence.
