PHILOSOPHY OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT : 

PHILOSOPHY OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT The purpose of classroom management is to foster a learning environment that allows every student the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential It is the teacher’s duty to ensure that students know what is expected of them in the classroom The teacher must always expect the best out of every student in the classroom and must let students know they care about their achievement level An effective classroom management plan must include positive reinforcement in addition to consequences for negative behavior

PHILOSOPHY OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT The purpose of classroom management is to foster a learning environment that allows every student the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential It is the teacher’s duty to ensure that students know what is expected of them in the classroom The teacher must always expect the best out of every student in the classroom and must let students know they care about their achievement level An effective classroom management plan must include positive reinforcement in addition to consequences for negative behavior

POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT A positive learning environment must be fostered by the following: Students must always be aware of the teacher’s expectations for them The teacher must respect the students, the students must respect the teacher, and the students must respect each other Rules, rewards, and consequences must always be visible The teacher must always be consistent and fair in dealing with students The classroom should always be clean and organized and the teacher must be prepared for class The teacher should provide a variety of activities for students to practice and demonstrate learning in ways that fit their own skills and talents The classroom must encourage and reflect the participation of students through maps, posters, vocabulary boards, and student work

CLASSROOM RULES Come to class prepared with your book, paper, and a pen or pencil ready to work by the bell Raise your hand and wait to be called on before talking Show respect, honesty, and responsibility toward yourself and others at all times Stay in your seat unless given permission to get up No gum, food, or drink (other than water) allowed in class

CLASSROOM RULES I WILL be in my seat with my paper and a pen or sharpened pencil by the time the bell rings I WILL NOT talk while the teacher or other recognized students are talking I WILL show respect, honesty, and responsibility toward myself and others at all times I WILL stay in my seat unless given permission to get up I WILL NOT bring gum, food, or drinkinto class

CLASSROOM REWARDS : 

CLASSROOM REWARDS Verbal Praise Tickets Rewarded for active participation in class, demonstration of learning, and exemplary behavior Student Treats (homework pass, tickets, candy, phone call, etc.) Rewarded for completing all in class work and homework over the course of a chapter/unit Student of the Week Rewarded for participation, completing all work, and exemplary behavior Class Reward Rewarded for entire classroom participation during discussions and group work Rewarded for high class passing percentage on quizzes and tests

CLASSROOM REWARDS :

The students will sign a classroom contract and will be quizzed on the classroom rules and procedures. Parental involvement will be incorporated in the following ways: Open house meet and greet Phone calls to introduce myself, brag on students’ good behavior, and as a consequence for misbehavior or poor grades Notes home to be signed Parent/teacher conferences If requested under certain circumstances, parents may observe my classroom
