A day of service learning activities designed to teach younger students through hands-on experience about 10 critical issues facing our planet. If they use 5 less gallons per week, as they pledged, they would save 52,000 gallons per year! 1,980 Simple Acts of Peace in One Day! : 1,980 Simple Acts of Peace in One Day! Students from 3 public schools, 1 private school, and home school came together to serve a charter school! Pre and Post Test Results : Pre and Post Test Results We tested 39/151 students (26%) Average pre-test score: 7 Average post-test score: 9 Out of those students, 93% scored higher on their post-tests than on their pre-tests. Feedback From Teachers : Feedback From Teachers “Very interesting! It was quick paced so students weren't bored.“ –Ms Kris “Creative activities! Stations were very informative.” –Ms Jessica “Step Demo: Loved to have the children experience more diversity!” --Ms Anne “I enjoyed all of the awesome centers with high schoolers running them; the students did an awesome job!” –Ms Lindsay “Great hand-outs and activities and it was great for all grade levels.” –Ms Kris Slide 28: What Next? How do we keep it going? 9 more murals - one for each issue! Partnering Organizations : Partnering Organizations Special Thanks to our partners in this project! A Few More Things: : A Few More Things: TVM has purchased water bottles for students.
