What was Global Youth Service Day? : 

What was Global Youth Service Day? A day of service learning activities designed to teach younger students through hands-on experience about 10 critical issues facing our planet. These issues are identified by Nobel Peace Laureates and outlined in the Peacejam curriculum

The 10 critical issues we addressed are: :

IMPACT: : 

IMPACT: If the students and faculty use their bottles everyday instead of plastic bottles that is potentially 74,095 less plastic bottles a year to impact environment! If they use 5 less gallons per week, as they pledged, they would save 52,000 gallons per year!

1,980 Simple Acts of Peace in One Day! : 

1,980 Simple Acts of Peace in One Day! Students from 3 public schools, 1 private school, and home school came together to serve a charter school!

Pre and Post Test Results : 

Pre and Post Test Results We tested 39/151 students (26%) Average pre-test score: 7 Average post-test score: 9 Out of those students, 93% scored higher on their post-tests than on their pre-tests.

A Few More Things: TVM has purchased water bottles for students. TVM Student Council has agreed to another food drive, a global disease campaign and a mural! 11 Schools county wide are participating in a rain barrel art project to raise awareness and money for Water For People
