A NOUN is a person, place , thing , event or idea. NOUNS CLICK on the nouns on the following slide.

Slide 3: 

An Outer Space Adventure “I don’t know why you dragged me out here in the middle of the street ,” complained Jeanette , “It’s unsafe to stand here .” Every night after the hustle and bustle of the day , Jonathan and Jeanette go outside to see the stars . Jonathan called it his thinking time . He uses his telescope and peacefully gazes at the stars above. Jonathan sighed, “You know I like to check out the stars ; the twinkling helps me relax. Wait a minute ! Did you see that movement across the sky ?” Can you choose the right answers? CLICK on the nouns.

Slide 4: 

A NOUN can be any person, place, thing or idea. These NOUNS are called COMMON NOUNS. Like book, restaurant, teacher. A NOUN can be a specific person, place, thing, or idea. These NOUNS are called PROPER NOUNS. Like To Kill A Mockingbird, McDonalds, Ms. Rodriguez These NOUNS always begin with a capital letter. An Outer Space Adventure (continued) CLICK the COMMON NOUNS and the PROPER NOUNS o n the slide. “ Jonny , could it be a shooting star ?” Jeanette asked in amazement . “I’ve never seen stars move like that ,” said Jonathan , I don’t know what that light could be.” Watching the light shift downward in the sky , it seemed to be falling towards Rockaway Street . Could it possibly be a meteor or space debris ? Suddenly the ground shook echoing the sound of a large crash two blocks away.

A NOUN can also be ONE person, place, thing, event, or idea. These NOUNS are called SINGULAR NOUNS. CLICK the SINGULAR NOUNS and PLURAL NOUNS on the following slide. NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING Jonathan asked Jeanette , “Did you hear that loud noise !” Jeanette said yes, and they both agreed to walk the couple of blocks to investigate the loud noise . When they reached Rockaway Street , their eyes widened with surprise . Before them was a silver Frisbee like shape with many circular lights all around it.

NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING A NOUN can represent a physical object, like a person, place, thing. These NOUNS are called CONCRETE NOUNS. CLICK the CONCRETE NOUNS and ABSTRACT NOUNS o n the following slide. A NOUN can be an idea or thought, like an idea or an event. These NOUNS are called ABSTRACT NOUNS.

The spaceship door opened slowly as a white light lit the street . Jonathan and Jeanette looked at each other in awe . They did not know whether to celebrate this awesome sight , or run in fear of the unknown . A tall green being stepped out. He had tentacles coming from his head . Jeanette stammered, “D-d-d do you come in peace ? The green giant used his large brain to translate Jeanette’s question , and answered , “ PEACE .”

NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING NO LOITERING A NOUN can represent a group of words. These NOUNS are called COLLECTIVE NOUNS. Like a group, flock, crowd, or club. CLICK the COLLECTIVE NOUNS on the following slide.

Changing the alien’s peaceful mindset into fear, and he quickly pulled out his disintegrator. Jeanette put her hands out to calm things down, “Whoa. Let’s not lose our heads , literally. That’s all we need is a heard of scared people and aliens running and shooting at each other.” Everyone calmed down , and the green visitor explained his name is Bob, and he is doing research for his class. He needed to make replicas of different forms of life from our planet. Jonathan and Jeanette were happy to make an exploration group to help Bob brings back things from his class .

An Outer Space Adventure (continued) They showed him around the neighborhood . They showed a pack of dogs running through the backyards , a crowd of people leaving a party , and their favorite places to eat. Bob made sure to make a note of all the things he saw in amazement . Bob thanked Jonathan and Jeanette for their hospitality by letting them fly around the block in his spaceship . The shiny knobs blinked as the spaceship whipped through the air . Bob then dropped off his Earth friends where they met, and headed towards his home planet . Jonathan and Jeanette looked at each other with amazement knowing they just experienced a story no one would ever believe . Jeanette now interested in the bright lights of the sky said, “OK Jonny , it’s my turn to look at the stars .” Now CLICK on ALL of the NOUNS.
