They serve a record 4,700 meals a day to homebound seniors and seriously ill adults across Los Angeles; www.stvincentmow.org. Slide 3: Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project celebrated the halfway mark of its MillionTreesNYC initiative by planting the 500,000th tree, a Pin Oak, at Saint Nicholas Park in Harlem on October 18; www.nyrp.org. Slide 4: Germantown Academy opened its new Alter Middle School and McNeil Upper School featuring a state-of-the-art library and technology center, science and computer labs, writing center, art rooms and student gathering areas; www.germantownacademy.net.
