RICHARD CARMAN TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR In my current role as a Freelance Technical Illustrator I have recently completed presentation work for Volkswagen and Bentley Motors. Having worked with a variety of German and English motor manufacturers over the past twenty years including Porsche, BMW and Audi, I have gained an enormous amount of illustrative experience. I have completed several polished presentations, and therefore also enhanced my ability to communicate with clientele in both English and German.

RICHARD CARMAN TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR An experienced Illustrator, with an intuitive grasp of what makes a technical illustration “talk”, and the technical excellence demonstrated in my work, executed at high speed, commands respect both from the clients and the agencies I have worked for. An approachable individual with a strong sense of humor, a young outlook and refreshing approach have served well during a period of massive change in technology and methodology. My work as a Technical Illustrator has been to provide precise and accurate images to convey a message, using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and ISO Draw, be it simple black and white instructional guides, to quality high resolution Photoshop airbrush images assisted by CAD information. I am adept at managing and encouraging artistic and creative staff. I have a solid engineering background – which enables me to convert concepts to deliverables, and am an excellent ‘interpreter’ of the visual communication needs of corporate clients. I am comfortable in dealing with senior engineers of client companies, with automotive, aerospace and other manufacturing sector experience. I have both native English and fluent German language skills. Although most of my work experience has been with the automotive industry, I feel I could utilize the disciplines I have accumulated into other domains, and create illustrative work for a wider clientele.
