Slide 2:
The first colonists came to America in 1620 on a ship called Mayflower . They were called Pilgrims.
They lived in Plymouth but they went through a lot difficulties and some of them died of hunger or disease.
Slide 3:
The Native Americans (American Indians) decided to help them – they showed them how to plant, how to hunt, how to build better houses and how to make medicines. By November 1621 the Pilgrims had food and a home.
Slide 4:
To thank God for the harvest and their native friends for their generosity they had a special dinner. It was the first Thanksgiving.

Today, Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the USA.
It is a time when families get together and give thanks for what they have – Love, Prosperity, Happiness, Health….
