Kelly Hi, my name is Kelly. I am in the 8th grade. This is my first year at this school, and I really like it here. I like to play sports. My favorite sport is volleyball. I used to play soccer and basketball but I don’t play them anymore. My favorite colors are yellow, blue, and green. I am 5’3” and I have brown eyes and brown hair. My best friends are Nyna, Isabella, Bella, and Kayla. I have 9 cousins, 7 aunts, and 5 uncles.

Hsiao-Mei My name is Hsiao-Mei. My favorite colors are blue and purple. I love art, and I want to be an artist or photographer. My favorite sports are soccer and football. My favorite subject is language arts. I have one sibling, an older sister that’s in her second year of college at FSU. My parents are divorced and I live with my mom.

Key Terms Pt. II Input, process, output, feedback- The parts of a system. Input is what is put into a system. Process is the action part of a system. Output is the result of a systems process. Feedback tells whether or not a system is on track Communication Technology- the process used to exchange communication

Name Game The system was that half the class would sit at their desks and the other half would rotate. The benefits was that you meet everyone in class and learn something about them. The problem with the original system, the people that were rotating didn’t meet the other people also rotating and the people sitting didn’t meet other people sitting. We modified the Name Game System with cutting the class in half with groups of people who were sitting can meet the people they didn’t and the people rotating can meet the other people rotating too.

Marshmallow Challenge The challenge of the “Marshmallow Challenge” was to make a standing structure using only raw angel hair noodles. To build the structure, you could only use raw noodles, string, tape, and one marshmallow standing on top of the tower. You only had 18 minutes to build the tower. The goal was to have the tallest standing tower by the end of the 18 minutes. Our idea process was to build a square on top of another square with four noodles for support of the square. We used tape to make them stick together for support. Side View Top View = marshmallow
