Postulate v. Theorems :
Postulate v. Theorems Postulate
Something you assume to be true without proof.
Theorem
Something that can be proven based on postulates.
Example :
Example Postulate: A linear pair is supplementary
Theorem: Vertical angles are congruent 1 2 3
Side Angle Side Postulate (SAS) :
Side Angle Side Postulate (SAS) If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are congruent to two sides and the included angle of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
Side Side Side Postulate (SSS) :
Side Side Side Postulate (SSS) If each sides of one triangle is congruent to a corresponding side in another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
Angle Side Angle Postulate (ASA) :
Angle Side Angle Postulate (ASA) It two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
Angle Angle Side Postulate (AAS) :
Angle Angle Side Postulate (AAS) It two angles and the non-included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the non-included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
