Kinetic Theory of Gases :

Kinetic Theory of Gases Gas molecules are in constant motion and undergoing collisions Gas molecules travel great distances Travel many times their own diameter Gases can be compressed

Point Masses :

Point Masses Gas molecules treated as point masses No volume or diameter An ideal gas is one in which molecules are treated as point masses Not 100% correct, but it works at “normal conditions”

Variables :

Variables Pressure, temperature, and volume are all dependent on one another Must specify all three when talking about gas quantities STP – Standard Temperature and Pressure Standard Pressure = 1 atm (101.325kPa) Standard Temperature = 0°C (273 K)
