The Mole:

The Mole We use “the mole” to signify a certain number of something : 6.02x10 23 Just like “dozen” means 12, or “gross” means 144 Because atoms and molecules are so small, we need a large number of them to conveniently measure the mass

Avogadro’s Number (NA):

Avogadro’s Number (N A ) 6.02 x 10 23

PowerPoint Presentation:

1 mole of particles has a mass (in grams) equal to the molecular or formula mass.

Molar Mass:

Molar Mass is the mass of one mole of molecules, atoms, ions, or formula units Molar Mass of H 2 O is 18.0 g/mol Molar Mass of NaCl is 58.5 g/mol Molar Mass of O 2 is 32.0 g/mol
