387: J gives a birth ceremony, recites Fremen history.
388: Trouble brews--if P passes test, he should challenge Stilgar for leadership. Men itch for real fighting.
389: Harah must pacify tribe about Alia. Also, she wants to find alternative to P killing Stil. Need ALL strength.

396: Smugglers -- P suggests baiting trap with spice, catching them. This diverts tension from leadership issue.

415: P announces that Rabban is on his own. No new troops & pressure to produce more spice. P is DUKE of Arrakis whether Emp like it or not. “Will I subtract from our strength?”
This is clearly yet another TEST--political.
416: Stil vows to follow P, who knights him and declares he remains the tribal leader.
418-19: G tries to kill J--P talks him down. J says he has “the great control.” 422: G offers his life, then plays baliset for J.
423: Men arrive for war council; P sneaks off to make H20 of life and become Kwisatz Haderach.
