Dr. Mike Mullan’s Alzheimer Research Highlighted Different Genetic Variations That Lead To Alzheimer

PowerPoint Presentation:

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurologic disorder of the brain, resulting in the loss of neutrons and intellectual abilities like memory and reasoning. Classified as a type of dementia, this disease affects patients above 65 years of age. Studies have shown that the less prevalent early-onset Alzheimer’s can also occur in patients below 65 years of age.

According to the 2006 statistics, 26.6 million people suffered from Alzheimer’s during that year and it has been estimated that by 2050, 1 in every 85 people around the world will be affected by the disease. Dr. Mike Mullan’s Alzheimer research shows that the disease affects a person’s memory, his ability to learn and also results in several behavioral changes.

Dr. Michael Mullan is a reputed biomedical professional who has significantly contributed in the field of research on neurodegenerative disorders conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. He is presently chaired as the Director at Roskamp Institute based in Sarasota, Florida, and is well qualified in finding cures for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders and addictions.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Dr. Mike Mullan’s Alzheimer research has helped in understanding the root causes and potential therapies for Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to Alzheimer, researchers at Roskamp Institute have also successfully studied other illnesses and disorders such as Gulf War Illness, Brain Research, etc.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Dr. Mike Mullan’s Alzheimer research has provided a better understanding of the disease and has also helped in finding its prospective cures. His study has thus, proved that one of the direct causes of the disease is the excess accumulation of beta-amyloid, a type of protein present in the brain. It has been noticed that this protein is normally produced in every human, but its excess accumulation can lead to Alzheimer’s. Furthermore, his research also helped in indentifying several genetic variations that lead to the disease.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Dr. Mullan, along with his team of dedicated researchers has tested several medications and therapeutic treatments that can help in slowing down the accumulation of beta-amyloid and associated inflammation.
