We are a network of BMNC club members who are committed to reaching every Newf that needs us What is BMNC Rescue? : What is BMNC Rescue? We work with other Newfoundland clubs and rescue organizations in the New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey area to coordinate Newfoundland dog rescue Meet Kasper! : Meet Kasper! This is Kasper, who came into Rescue in October 2009: George, Gina, and Erin Downing fostered him for several months Meet Kasper : Meet Kasper Kasper was probably abused by his owners, and had trust issues with humans! The best way to describe him is to picture a cartoon version of a sheep. Imagine thin legs and on top a big round ball of fur. He may have had a bladder infection, and his ears were bothering him. He needed help! Meet Kasper : Meet Kasper After several months in foster care, and lots of TLC from the Downing family, Kasper regained his health, and started acting like a Newf again. He was adopted by a family with a fenced-in yard in February 2010, and the Downings brought him to his new home in March 2010. What can YOU do for Rescue? : What can YOU do for Rescue? There’s a lot you can do even if you can’t foster (referring to short-term rescue care) or adopt (long-term rescue care) a Newf in need. Tonka, a Newf who came through our network and found a “forever” home in 2007 What can YOU do for Rescue? : What can YOU do for Rescue? Here are just a few things you can do: Transport a dog Donate a crate Buy a raffle ticket for rescue fund raising Drive a dog to and from vet appointments Donate a canine first aid kit Donate a bag of food or dog biscuits Walk a dog Groom a dog What can YOU do for Rescue? : What can YOU do for Rescue? Please see our 100 Ways To Help with Rescue list to see more things you can do to help out! Barry Jones with “Sam”, a rescue from 2009 Meet Sunshine! : Meet Sunshine! This is Sunshine, who came into Rescue in March 2010: Larry and Mary Mesce picked her up in Queens from an 80-year-old woman who could no longer take care of her Meet Sunshine! : Meet Sunshine! She went to stay with the Downings for a while! Sunshine needed a few forever home tries, and she was permanently adopted in August 2010 Meet Sunshine! : Meet Sunshine! Here are Sunshine and Erin Downing saying goodbye just before heading off to Sunshine’s new forever home on Long Island… BMNC Rescue : BMNC Rescue These are just a few of the rescues that BMNC has helped.
