Prime Minister Of Australia:

Prime Minister Of Australia Julia Eileen Gillard born 29 September 1961. 27 th Prime Minister of Australia. Since June 2010. Julia Gillard was born in Barry, Wales. The family migrated to Australia in 1966, settling in Adelaide. Gillard was elected at the 1988 federal election to the House of Representatives seat of Lalor, Victoria for the Australian labour party.

Parliament Of Australia:

Parliament Of Australia The two houses of the Parliament House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, are partners in the making of laws, no laws can be made without the agreement of the members of the houses. Each year, about one million people visit the building.

House Of Representatives.:

House Of Representatives. The House of Representatives is one of the two houses (chambers) of the Parliament House. It is also called the Lower House, and the Upper House is the Senate. The House of Representatives has 150 members. The Speaker of the House Of Representative is Harry Jenkins, since 12 February 2008.


Senate The senate is the other chamber in The Parliament House. It’s able to sit 76 senators in the house. Senators are elected every 6 years. The speaker of the senate is John Hogg since 26 August 2008.

The Building.:

The Building. The Australian flag on top of the Parliament House is the size of a double-decker bus. The first hole dug in the ground was dug in late 1980, and construction began. They opened the Parliament House on 9 th Of May 1988. The underground car parks hold up to 2,000 cars.

Inside the Parliament House.:

Inside the Parliament House. There are 4,500 rooms with a total area of 250,000 square metres The Foyer contains 48 Italian and Portuguese marble clad pillars The building has two libraries; one a reading library, the other a research library for the benefit of answering questions on most topics from members and senators. There are 8,340 spaces in the building including about 4,700 rooms and 2,700 clocks.
