Genesis : 

Genesis UTV started off as United Software Communications Pvt. Ltd. on 22 June 1990. In 1991 it created a landmark for television properties that became household names and were benchmarks for unique entertainment content. UTV Television gave India its first daily soap Shanti (1994) on Doordarshan and the very first reality game show Saanp Seedi on Zee TV (1992). Subsequently, they went public and were renamed as UTV Software Communications Ltd. in 1998.
