She was the happiest baby you’d ever want to meet!: Alexus started having severe myoclonic seizures at the age of 6 months, but she didn’t let that get her down! She was the happiest baby you’d ever want to meet! From the age of 6 months up to almost 2 yrs old, she spent the majority of her time in and out of childrens hospitals. She was constantly getting life-flighted for seizures that were not able to be stopped unless she went on a ventilator.: From the age of 6 months up to almost 2 yrs old, she spent the majority of her time in and out of childrens hospitals. Unfortunately, March 12, 2008 I (mom) woke up at 5 a.m. to Lexi having a seizure and for some reason this time I knew that it was the worst one she had ever had! I called 911 and waited for the ambulance to come and they flew to the hospital. Her seizure lasted 4 ½ hours just at the hospital, not including however long it was at home, before they were able to stop it. By the time it did stop, Alexus had had several strokes and was completely blind and had no control over her bowels and urine. Lexi was life flighted to Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, where the dr’s did a bunch of tests and confirmed that Alexus was septic, meaning she had infection in her blood stream throughout her body.Slide 9: On March 13, 2008 Alexus was pronounced brain dead from a seizure that had lasted longer than 4 hours and caused her to go septic. She was 6 days before her second birthday! Lexi , you will never ever be forgotten, you will be with me always! I love you baby girl! --MomSlide 10: When God Calls little children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild . Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold, so He picks a little rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, so He takes but a few To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult, still, somehow we must try, the saddest word mankind knows will always be goodbye. So when a little child departs, we who are left behind must realize God loves children…Angels are hard to find.Slide 11: Lexi , It has now been 3 years since you’ve went to heaven, but it seems like just yesterday I was holding you and hearing you say “ yook ”. I miss you soooo much, I hope you know this. Aedyn talks about you a lot and misses you so much too. I can’t wait til I can see you again and I know I will someday. I love you baby girl and will always have you in my heart! Love, MomSlide 12: Alexus gave the gift of life through organ donation, she gave her heart to save a 10 month old little boy! She was the most courageous, strong, heroic 2 year old you ever met! You do not have the permission to view this presentation. In order to view it, please contact the author of the presentation.
