PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE SHORT EXPLANATION By : misterhadi

We use ‘Present Continuous’ - : 

We use ‘Present Continuous ’ - to describe an action in progress the moment By : misterhadi Examples: I’m driving to my office. She’s typing the letters. of speaking.

We use ‘Present Continuous’ - : 

We use ‘Present Continuous ’ - to talk about things happening in a period By : misterhadi around now. Examples: You are working too hard this week. She’s learning English this month.

We use ‘Present Continuous’ - : 

We use ‘Present Continuous ’ - to talk about changes happening now . By : misterhadi Examples: My father is getting older. The population of this city is rising very fast.

We use ‘Present Continuous’ - : 

We use ‘Present Continuous ’ - By : misterhadi With a future meaning, to talk about something we have already arranged to do . Examples: I’m not working tomorrow . She’s going to the dentist on Monday evening .

In statements: 

In statements I am Verb + ing He/She/It is You/We/They are For example : I am studying english now. He is playing football. We are watching television. By : misterhadi

In negatives: 

In negatives I am not Verb + ing He/She/It is You/We/They are For example : I am not studying english now. He is not playing football. We are not watching television. By : misterhadi

In Yes-no questions: 

In Yes-no questions Am I Verb + ing? Is he/she/it Are you/we/they For example : Are you studying english now? Is he playing football? Are they watching television? By : misterhadi

In wh-questions: 

In wh-questions By : misterhadi For example : What are you doing now? Where is he playing? What are they watching? wh- question am I Verb + ing? is he/she/it are you/we/they

Remember...: 

Remember... By : misterhadi Some verbs such as : have, like, love, know,understand, believe, remember, need, etc, can’t be used for ‘continuous tense’ because they are not ‘action verbs’ Examples: I’m not understanding English. She’s needin g your help.
