Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever–increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NIVUnveiled people: Unveiled people “But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:16Unveiled people: Unveiled people “Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face to face! They suddenly recognise that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognised as obsolete. We’re free of it!” 2 Corinthians 3:16-17 MessageUnveiled people: Unveiled people In Jesus fear is replaced by love and grace.Reflect Jesus: Reflect Jesus His character and priorities. “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory…” 2 Corinthians 3:18a To continue the work Jesus began.Reflect Jesus: Reflect Jesus Jesus went where people were. Jesus came alongside people at their point of need. Jesus had compassion and love motivating his actions. Jesus was fired by the desire that none should perish. so can we as we reflect HimReflect Jesus: Reflect Jesus Jesus brought healing and hope. Jesus desired to do his Father’s will. Jesus knew the reality of being tired, lonely and hungry yet was fed by God’s power. so can we as we reflect HimReflect Jesus: Reflect Jesus Seeking to put ourselves in places where we are buffed up. Time out to be with God if we are to absorb and so reflect God’s glory.Transformed lives: Transformed lives “…are being transformed into his likeness with ever–increasing glory…” 2 Corinthians 3:18b “All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 MessageTransformed lives: Transformed lives Where every person is welcomed and accepted. Community where barriers are taken down. People given the resources to bring wholeness. Personal transformation is foundational.Transformed lives: Transformed lives “… are being transformed into his likeness with ever–increasing glory…” Kingdom of God like a mustard seed.Transformed lives: Transformed lives God’s plans are for us to be transformed, so that others may be transformed, so that our world can be changed.New Covenant people: New Covenant people “..which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”. 2 Corinthians 3:18c.
