PRIORITIZING THE AGENDA: 

PRIORITIZING THE AGENDA HIV/AIDS in the Middle East relatively low compared to other regions, although numbers have increased over the last three years Churches are not perceiving it as a priority for action HIV/AIDS too often is being associated with war related behavior of militants engaging in drugs

WHERE TO START FROM? Mobilize NGOs around prevention Churches can downplay stigma & discrimination by promoting the spiritual / theological aspects of “forgiveness” and acceptance Christians: culture of guilt (I have “sinned”) Muslims: culture of shame
