A List of Common Cosmetic Removal Procedures:

A List of Common Cosmetic Removal Procedures

PowerPoint Presentation:

If answering honestly, most people would likely admit to at least one physical imperfection they would happily have removed, if possible. Hairs, bumps, marks and even tattoos can cause some people to cover up and avoid being part of the crowd. Luckily, it is possible to have many such marks removed. Cosmetic removal procedures are safe and they are effective and they can literally remove that annoying or embarrassing mark right off your body. Some of the more common cosmetic removal procedures are as follows:

Laser Hair Removal:

Laser Hair Removal Hair has a tendency to crop up in the most unlikely of places, and unwanted hair often causes a good deal of anxiety. Lasers are a common way to remove hair permanently, and they work on several different areas, including: Legs Underarms Chest Back Face Neck Upper Lip Bikini Line Stomach Areola

PowerPoint Presentation:

Laser hair removal usually works best for people with lighter skin and darker hair, but more reputable places will work with light or dark skinned patients. Before you begin, you’ll have to get a complete medical assessment from the dermatologist. Your history will be looked over, your skin will be examined and any previous treatments will be reviewed. Then, the dermatologist will prescribe an individualized program to remove the hair. Depending on the clinic or the doctor, you may be offered one of a number of different laser treatments to remove your unwanted hair. You will likely require up to 5 treatments within each 6 to 8 week period to achieve the results you desire.

Mole Removal:

Mole Removal Moles are another common thing that many patients want removed. Some moles are dangerous while others are completely harmless, but in a lot of cases people just want them gone. Whether they take up a lot of surface area on the skin or protrude above the surface or both, removal is usually an option. In many cases, the area of the mole is numbed and a scalpel is used to shave the section of mole away that is sticking up above the surface of the skin. When this happens, a flat, white mark is usually left behind, but occasionally the mark stays the same colour as the mole. Stitches aren’t always necessary and the treatment is fast and safe. You’ll be all done in less than half-an-hour, and will only need a local anesthetic. Scarring from a mole removal should be minimal, but you can make it even less by using a sunscreen that has a SPF of at least 15.

Tattoo Removal:

Tattoo Removal Sometimes people just grow out of tattoos, or were never happy with what they had from the start. Either way, if you find that you can’t stand the sight of a tattoo any longer, there is a safe and effective laser treatment available to take it off. The way the laser works is by emitting a beam of light at a wavelength that will be absorbed by the colour pigments of your skin. The laser is able to destroy the pigment of the tattoo without damaging any of the surrounding tissue. A tattoo removal laser is safe and quick and will result with no more unwanted tattoo. After your consultation, you’ll have an appointment in a clinic, which may include a local anesthetic for comfort if you want it. The length of your treatment depends on the size and the colour of the tattoo you want removed. You may require anywhere from 3 to 9 treatments to completely remove the tattoo. The actual results will vary from patient to patient, but you should notice progress with each successive visit.

Acne Treatment :

Acne Treatment Most people have to suffer through some degree of acne at some point of their lives. Congestion in the pores of your skin that result in swelling, red spots or blackheads is common during the adolescent years. Most people refer to acne as ‘pimples’ and they can occur virtually anywhere on the body. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest and back. Acne may vary from very slight pimples to deep, painful-looking cysts and pustules. Acne may be caused by hormones and some external factors, and often has an effect on self-esteem and self-confidence. If severe acne if left alone, it may end up causing permanent scarring. If you suffer from acne, it’s wise to start on a treatment program as soon as possible. Using a daily exfoliating cleanser will help, as will acne treatment products containing 5% benzyl peroxide. It’s also important not to touch the face with dirty hands or anything else that may clog pores. If medical removal becomes a necessity, you will have an initial consultation to assess and examine your skin thoroughly. From there, you’ll either be prescribed a home-care regimen to follow, or one of the available acne removal treatments. These may include microdermabrasion , various peels or non-invasive light treatment. These treatments may be used for the acne itself, or acne scarring that’s been left behind.
