When there is a hierarchy men take control. It helps stop the spread of false doctrine. Autonomous congregations can say “NO” to each other. It elevates God’s Word over Man’s Word. No centralized headquarters given their own laws. It allows congregations to address their own local needs. How can one area know the needs of another area? It allows for more members to serve and take ownership of the congregation in their area. There is no motivation if rules come from men in another location.
