You can choose any form of original text to represent your understanding. You might create portraits of the main characters, a PowerPoint presentation, a glog… there are too many opportunities to mention! With your representation, you will compose a written response that identifies and explains your choices in creating it. Artist Role Duties: : Characters in the novelNever Cry Wolf Narrator: Farley Mowat : Narrator: Farley Mowat At the beginning of the novel, Farley is a biologist who does research on the Arctic wolves. He was fearful at first, thinking they were mean creatures. In the middle of the book he learns to study the wolves more carefully and learn a lot about them. : In the middle of the book he learns to study the wolves more carefully and learn a lot about them. Mowat Studying Arctic Wolves : Mowat Studying Arctic Wolves Timberwolf Husky dog Camping in the Arctic George, Angeline, Uncle Albert Arctic wolf resting Mowat checking a wolf path The narrator realizes that the wolves work together in their pack and aren’t vicious creatures. : The narrator realizes that the wolves work together in their pack and aren’t vicious creatures. Mike : a half-Eskimo, half-white trapper who lets Farley use his cabin. Mike Ootek : one of Mike's friends, an Inuit named Ootek Ootek Ootek has amazing abilities understanding the wolves. He teaches Farley a lot. Journeying home : Journeying home "I had made my decision that, from this hour onward, I would go open-minded into the lupine world and learn to see and know the wolves, not for what they were supposed to be, but for what they actually are." Chapter 7, pg. 77. My paragraph : I chose to do a photo essay to show the characters in the novel. It is really about Farley Mowat’s research into the lives of the Arctic wolves. However, I think he learned a lot about how humans can learn to co-exist with nature. He respected the Eskimo’s way of life and appreciated the knowledge that Mike and Ootek conveyed to him.
