Dr. Steve Barnett Dr. Barnett has been the principal of Town Acres for twelve years. He attended Johnson City Schools as a student. He did get some experience working in another school system before returning to Johnson City Schools.

Mission & Vision Towne Acres Elementary School Philosophy We at Towne Acres believe that education is the mutual responsibility of school, home, and community and that it is an ongoing, life-long process.  Towne Acres School believes that the school effectively meets community expectations through interaction  and communication with each parent.  We believe that an atmosphere of mutual respect, concern, and achievement will result in preparation for further education and for students becoming responsible, productive members of an ever-changing, complex society. Beliefs Education is the mutual responsibility of school, home, and community.  Education is an ongoing life-long process.  The school effectively meets community expectations through interaction and communication with parents.  Student learning is enhanced by high standards of behavior and a clean and safe learning environment.  Mission Statement The mission of Towne Acres Elementary School is to prepare our students academically, socially, and culturally by utilizing a variety of learning experiences to ensure that they might become successful, productive citizens. Vision Statement The process of learning will result in encouraging, nurturing, motivating, and empowering students and adults to be productive life-long learners and to contribute positively to society.

School Resource Officers Town Acres has two school resource officers. One is shared with North Side Elementary. The other is shared with South Side Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, and Cherokee Elementary.

Instructional Coaches:

Instructional Coaches One Literacy coach visits Town Acres one day a week. One Math coach visits Town Acres one day every other week.
