Isolated from any approach by a huge tract of monotonous desert, the vibrancy of Yard is invariably a surprise. Strălucirea oraşului nu poate să nu te surprindă pentru că drumul monoton prin deşert până aici este dezolant Recognized by UNESCO as holding one of the oldest architecture all over the worldPowerPoint Presentation: Amir Chak h ma q Square in YazdPowerPoint Presentation: This stunning three-story facade of the takieh (a building used during the rituals to commemorate the death of Imam Hossein) is one of the most recognizable and unusual buildings in Iran. It is not a mosque. It was constructed in the 16th century and believed to be used to watch events in the square. PowerPoint Presentation: The word Yazd means feast and worship. The city of Yazd has resisted the modern urbanization changes and maintained its traditional structure.PowerPoint Presentation: there are wonderful views of the town and the surrounding desert landscape from the third-storey.PowerPoint Presentation: Although described not more than an entrance portal to the bazaar, this early 19th century tiled edifice was built to serve as grand-stand for the traditional passion play, TA’ZIEH, recording the martyrdom of the Shiite third Imam, and also provided an imposing entrance to one of Yazd bazaar. In front of the takieh look out for the huge wooden cypress-shaped structure known as “palm”, nakhl, an important centrepiece for the observance of the Shiites' passionate Ashura commemorations in the month of Moharram ( the first month of the Islamic calendar ) . În faţa acestui takieh se află o enormă structură de lemn cu forma unui chiparos, numit aici nakhl (palmier), piesa centrală a serbărilor de comemorare din luna MoharramPowerPoint Presentation: The huge wooden cypress-shaped structure nakhl – is used in the Ashura rituals to carry a representive martyr of the imam decked with swords, money and mirrors outside the building.PowerPoint Presentation: Traveling in the cities around the desert, one can see these nakhls in from of mosques and in public squares. A 12-meter-high nakhl stands in from of Amir Chakhmaq Complex , in Yazd. This nakhl is believed to be 400 years old. On the day of the ‘Ashura they are decorated with expensive colored fabrics and carried in procession by the population. Almost all the men, old or young, join to carry the nakhl on their shoulders. Some nakhls weigh several tons. Unele nakhl pot c â nt ă r i mai multe tone.PowerPoint Presentation: A 12-meter-high nakhl stands in from of Amir Chakhmaq. This nakhl is believed to be 400 years old.PowerPoint Presentation: As for the appellation of nakhl, and why such an obviously cypress-shaped structure has become known as “palm”, we must turn to the Safavids and their aims. But, before that, one point needs to be made clear, namely that the cypress tree is the national tree of the Iranians, and the palm tree that of the Arabs. Therefore, if a scene of Karbala and the holocaust of the ‘Ashura is to be depicted, then the palm tree must be represented, and not the cypress. And this is the dilemma which the Iranians of Safavid times astutely resolved by adopting the cypress tree, a long-time symbol familiar to Iranians, and calling it a palm tree În ceea ce priveşte denumirea, de ce o structură cu formă de chiparos este numită palmier, trebuie să ne întoarcem în epoca safavidă. Această dilemă a fost rezolvată în timpul stăpânirii safavide adoptând forma chiparosului atât de drag şi familiar iranienilor şi denumindu-l nakhl, palmier....PowerPoint Presentation: S ound: Homayoun Shajarian - Saz Va Avaze Eshghe Paak Text : Internet Pictures: Sanda Foişoreanu Nicoleta Leu Arangement : Sanda Foişoreanu www.slideshare.net/michaelasanda Iran You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
