Slide 1:

The Diebold Family

Slide 2:

Mikey was born November 16, 1990 We rescued him when he was 9 mos. old from a wonderful couple that couldn’t handle the energy of a puppy his age. They say we rescued THEM! He kept us both busy each night ‘fetching’ his sock.

Slide 3:

Mikey was the lone ‘Top Dog’ and had us, the yard and the house, all to himself until March of ‘93. ( He relished every minute of it )

Slide 4:

Michelle - “Lady Winston Shelton” was born January 11, 1992 She was 14 mos. old when we rescued her from 2 little girls that had grown tired of her. Lucky for us! She was the sweetest puppy we ever met. We took him everywhere!

Slide 5:

Michelle loved children and animals. She even liked Mikey! She was Daddy’s little girl and idolized him… I think the feeling was mutual. Mikey had a buddy - Michelle

Slide 6:

Then on October 19, 1994 Michelle had puppies! 6 beautiful bundles of joy! We had ‘piles-o-pups’ everywhere. Mikey didn’t quite know what to think.

Slide 7:

His eyes always seemed to be asking, ‘When will all these pups be leaving?’ Mikey had no problem letting them know who was Top Dog. We screened several potential puppy buyers but nobody wanted the 1 little boy. We kept him – Baby Boy Rico.

Slide 8:

Rico is a pretty laid back pup and seems to like music. Whenever he hears an Eric Clapton tune he’ll sling his toys around until the music stops!

Slide 9:

Well she’s a trip-and-a-half! We’re so glad we didn’t listen. Muffin is our little darling. She’s loads of fun and likes to accessorize. What a Sweetheart! The vet told us not to keep Muffin because she was ‘too sensitive’.

Slide 10:

And although we turned down several ‘buyers’ (breeders) for little Fancy, she finally found a good home with the next door neighbors… who have spoiled her immensely. We’ve had fun watching her grow up.

Slide 11:

Michelle, Muffin and Rico usually hung around together

Slide 12:

All in all, our pups are pretty well behaved. We’ve had tons of entertainment, companionship and love throughout the years, from them and the whole experience. And on a few occasions, when we just happened to get a shot of all 4 of them together, we felt double-lucky!

Slide 13:

And after all these years and everywhere we went together… Mikey’s eyes still look as though he’s wondering when all those other pups are going to leave.

Slide 14:

Mikey was 15 when on March 16, 2006 he let us know he wasn’t having fun anymore. Michelle used her K-9 cart for almost 3 years after her back legs went out on her. Then on March 31, 2009 her kidneys were failing and we said our good-bye’s to her. She was 17. She and Mikey now rest side-by-side here at home in the yard they used to play in.
