Frankford Community Development Corporation 2011 Accomplishments & Plans for 2012

Mission Statement:

Mission Statement The purpose of the Frankford CDC is to enhance the quality of life and increase the employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the Frankford community through economic development, housing, public safety and revitalization of the commercial corridor. To that end, FCDC engages in a wide variety of activities, from organizing and executing special events to providing technical assistance to small business owners and promoting Frankford’s many assets throughout the Philadelphia area. The Frankford CDC also works hand in hand with the Frankford Business & Professional Association to continue building a stronger small business community in the Frankford neighborhood.

Youth Advisory Council:

Youth Advisory Council Mission: Engage youth from both Frankford and throughout the Philadelphia area in the revitalization of Frankford Nonprofits partnered with: Arts Rising Startup Corps Schools partnered with: Frankford High School Harding Middle School CAPA

Real Estate:

Real Estate 4215 Penn Street: for sale to low to moderate income household (60% to 80%) Tackawanna Properties: PHS Green Site, working with the City to build affordable housing 4630 Griscom : working to turn in to Community Garden in partnership with Northeast Treatment Centers Additional real estate: working to determine its highest and best use
