In the recent past, almost all major companies – - Parle Agro, - Parle Products, - Marico & - Frito Lays (PepsiCo.) have launched baked versions of products which are typically fried, in order to appeal to the increasingly health-conscious consumer.

New products launched Parle Agro :- Italian Pizza, Chinese Manchurian, Hot-n-Sweet Tomato, Thai Chili and Yoghurt Mint Chutney.

opportunity for asnack business There is tremendous growth potential in the category. This segment growing at 25% per annum. Yet India has amongst the lowest per capita consumption of snack, 0.5 kg per head, compared to other markets like the, US at 10.12 kg, Japan with 4.51 kg, Germany with 2.74 kg.
