Special safety features have been built into cars for years, some for the safety of car's occupants only, and some for the safety of others.Slide 5: STEERING SYSTEMSTEERING SYSTEM: STEERING SYSTEM The steering system helps the driver to guide the moving vehicle on the road and turns the vehicle right or left according to his wishes. Safety of any automobile is mainly depends on the performance of steering and braking systems. Automobiles are controlled by steering system. Directional changes are provided by this steering system to the moving automobiles. .STEERING SYSTEM: STEERING SYSTEMFUNCTIONS OF STEERING SYSTEM: FUNCTIONS OF STEERING SYSTEM In steering systems, the rotary motion of the steering wheel is converted into angular turning of the front wheels. Steering is done by moving the axes of rotation of the front wheels with respect to the chassis frame. WORKING OPERATION : WORKING OPERATION A link is fixed to the rack and pinion steering arrangement. The rack and pinion steering is moving to one direction, automatically the head lamp is turn in that direction. MAJOR COMPONENTS : MAJOR COMPONENTS The main components of the project are, Rack and pinion Steering Links Battery Head lampRACK AND PINION: RACK AND PINION This is common manual type of steering gear box is used in most of the vehicles. In this type of steering a pinion is provided the bottom end of the steering column. In which, rotary motion of the pinion of steering wheel is converted into linear motion in the rack to turn the front wheels.PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS: PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS FRONT VIEWSIDE VIEW: SIDE VIEWISOMETRIC VIEW : ISOMETRIC VIEWADVANTAGES: ADVANTAGES To provide smooth and safety ride in curved roads especially in mountains. To provide mind free ride for the motorist. To provide the nation with an accident free roads. Low Cost Automation Project. The head lamp aligns in two directions (Left, right ).DISADVANTAGES: DISADVANTAGES Additional cost is required.
