Monitoring & Evaluation Monitoring: Systematic collection of performance information (e.g. number of participants, sessions or throughput). Evaluation : Involves making a judgement about the value and impact of an activity and assessing whether or not it has achieved what it set out to do.

Why monitor/evaluate?:

Why monitor/evaluate? It helps: Project managers to keep track and assess how things are going To identify what is working well and where changes/improvements may be needed. To provide consistent performance measurement. To provide feedback on progress to everyone involved and can be used to share best practice To show the value and impact of sport to partners, Government and the wider community etc. To provide an evidence base to support the case for continued and increased levels of funding. It is an essential part of good project management
