“IMPROVING LIVES” :

“IMPROVING LIVES”

Slide 57:

“I was a participant in the Salt Lake County adapted Jr. Jazz and sled hockey programs. The programs helped shape me into both a mentally and physically stronger person with a disability. Without the outlet of the County’s sled hockey program I never would have been on the 2004 United States Sled Hockey team.” -Travis Farley 26 years old Taylorsville, Utah

Slide 58:

“I love that Salt Lake County offers less competitive, recreational programs at a low cost for families. I like how this program places a priority on fun.” Ted Shulsen - South Jordan; Coach Pitch coach & participant father

Slide 59:

“I am a spinal cord injury survivor - Salt Lake County’s Adaptive - golf program enabled me to stay in touch with valued friends, feel less isolated…and feel less disabled.” - Bob Wassom

Slide 60:

“The Salt Lake City Sports complex has been a crucial part of my family's health and fitness for the last four years. Using the weight room and the early morning spinning classes I have lost over 30 pounds, lowered my blood pressure and improved my asthma. There is no question that my medical costs have been significantly reduced thanks to my SLC Sports Complex workouts.” Randy Rasmussen 4347 E Laneview Ct Salt Lake City, UT 84108

Slide 61:

“It’s so great that you offer these kids (staff) the opportunity to work and help build their self confidence, learn responsibility, work ethic, and basic job skills. Thanks for giving my son a chance to work.” - Mr. Peart - South Jordan; Father of a Jr. Jazz employee
