PowerPoint has several toolbars. Toolbars provide shortcuts to menu commands. The most commonly used toolbars are the Standard and Formatting toolbars. You use the Standard toolbar to do such things as open a file; save a file; print a file; check spelling; cut, copy, and paste; undo and redo; or insert a chart or table. You use the Formatting toolbar to change the font, font size or font color; bold, underline, or italicize text; left align, right align, center, or justify; bullet or number lists; highlight; or decrease or increase the indent.

This hour introduced you to PowerPoint by showing you how to start PowerPoint and how to prepare for your initial slide presentation. PowerPoint prepares all kinds of presentations, all of which have one or more slides (screens). Use PowerPoint to create, edit, and even show your presentations in a slide-projector format. The AutoContent Wizard is perhaps the best way to start using PowerPoint. Based on your answers to a few simple questions, the AutoContent Wizard creates a presentation with sample text and formatting. To turn the generated presentation into your own, just change the text and, optionally, change the slides' design elements. The design templates also provide help when you want to add a new slide to a presentation. When you need to create a new slide, select the closest match from the list of design templates. After the design template creates a sample slide, just edit and modify the text. The next hour shows you how easy it is to turn the AutoContent Wizard or template-designed slides into your own

Slide25:

The primary type of file PowerPoint is used to create. Presentations typically have the file extension .ppt; however, you can also save PowerPoint presentations as Adobe Acrobat documents with the file extension .pdf. Finally, you can save your presentation as a web page, with the file extension .html or .html.

Slide27:

Individual parts of a presentation. Slides are similar to the individual pages in a print document, and can contain text, graphics, and animation.

Slide28:

The specific arrangement of text and images on a slide. Layouts can be very simple, consisting of simple titles and text, or they can be more complex and include elaborate colors and images. You can also include animation, sounds, and other multimedia objects in your layout.

Slide29:

The specific “look” of a slide or group of slides. A design template can be very basic - with black text on a white background - or it can be very colorful and complex. Typically, PowerPoint presentations have the same design template for all slides, although it is possible to select a different design template for each slide. Later, I’ll show you how to select different design templates.

Slide30:

The way a presentation appears when you are presenting it. When you display your slides in a slide show, the slides typically take up the whole screen, and they appear in Slide Show
