INTRODUCTION:

INTRODUCTION A low-cost carrier is also known as no frills , discount or budget carriers. The concept originated in the United States before spreading to Europe in the early 1990s and subsequently to much of the rest of the world. Due to low airfares offered by low cost carriers it has resulted in higher demand for air transport by the passengers. Low cost air lines are the need of the days. A low cost airline is one that proffers air travel at normally very low rates by cutting down expensive customer services. 5

ADVANTEGES OF LOW COST AIRLINES Airline for price conscious customer. Increase in employment. Allowed more people to fly. Now airlines are not only for business men or for rich persons the common men can also travel by air now a days. 6

DISADVANTAGES OF LOW COST CARRIERS:

DISADVANTAGES OF LOW COST CARRIERS Reduction in maintenance by hiring low skilled technician. Quality of service will go down in flight in caring passengers. Bad quality maintenance may result in accident. Quality pilots may not available for low pay, which will result in low performance. Hence not safe to fly. Poor quality of maintenance will lead to break down of engine at any time. 7

introduction In this presentation I am here to explain a few things about the duty of cabin crew. I selected Singapore airlines to explain about the duty of cabin crew. And also I explain about pre-flight check in aircrafts. 21

This flight is from Bangalore to Singapore this airline will take around 4:30 hours to reach its destination. This aircraft is departure at 11:10 pm. So I will make sure my baggages has to be ready in the morning. My reporting time is 09:40 pm so I will be ready on 08:00 pm and till 9:30 pm I will wait for my cab. I keep my luggage as follows Large Suitcase:- To keep my extra clothes required till my next flights & toiletries, and my layover clothes. Square suitcase:- To keep my documents, and important files. Stroller Bag:- To keep my extra uniform & shoe. 22

Breefing process Before reaching to the airport the cabin crew must attend the Breefing room to verify their documents. IN BREEFING ROOM In breefing room chief will check my : Knowledge about safety & first aid. Crew Documentary . Grooming. Boarding particulars are verified. Services. After breefing the cabin crew will go to the airport. 24

Embarkation process of cabin crew Formalities of a cabin crew at the time of boarding: ID checking X-ray the baggages Boarding Send baggages to cargo . One’s the loading & cleaning of aircraft is done the cabin crews have to entered to the aircraft for their services. 25

On ground services: On Ground Service Cabin crew has always do all the pre-flight checks related to emergency. Asbestos gloves:- In correct location. Smoke Goggles :- In correct location . Fire Axe / Crash Axe:- In correct location . Secured with straps. 27

Megaphone:- Inlocation, secure with traps, Press the “Push to Talk Button” to hear a click sound to make sure the battery is full. Manual Release Tool :- Inlocation ( under crew jump seats) Radio Beacon :- Inlocation, secure with strap. 28

Fire Extinguishers:- Fire extinguishers are of two types these are: Halon fire extinguisher Water fire extinguisher Halon Fire Extinguishers :- Inlocation. Secure with straps. Needle on the pressure guage should be between 1500 to 2000 PSI. Safety pin intact. Check the expiry date. Water Fire Extinguishers :- Inlocation. Secure with strap. Wire seal intact. Check the expiry date. 29

Portable Oxygen Cylinder:- Inlocation. Secure with straps. Needle on the pressure guage need to be on green zone not at the red zone. Mask should be available. First-Aid kit:- Inlocation. Secure with straps. Doctor certificate intact. Check the expiry date. Yellow seal intact. The number on the seal should be same as on the certificate. Physician's medical Kit :- Inlocation. Secure with straps. Doctor certificate intact. Check the expiry date. Yellow seal intact. The number on the seal should be same as on the certificate. 30

Life Vest :- For Passenger Seat:- Random check under the PAX seat for availability & spare life jackets on the overhead bin compartment. Exits / Door With Slide / Rafts band :- Needle on the pressure guage should be in the green go band. 31

After checking process passengers are allowed to the aircraft: A fter allowing the passengers the work of a cabin crew are: Welcome drink is served . Give safety demonstration. greeting & flight information. Now cabin crew has report to the captain as the cabin is ready for takeoff. Before the door closed, or while It is closed, announcement is made by captain. After captain orders they should arm the doors and then they has to be seated in their respected positions. 32

After takeoff:

After takeoff Emergency sign off announcement. Bad weather announcement in case of any weather problems. In flight entertainment As soon as it take off usually cabin crew will serve drinks and/or food to passengers. Cabin crew must also be check the lavatory to ensure the smoke detector hasn't been deactivated and to restock supplies as needed. Cabin crew must do any need of passenger they want. 33

Before landing:

Before landing Trays must be collected and secured along with service and galley equipment. Fasten seat belt sign. Destination specific announcement. Disembarkation card- filling & regulations. All hot liquids must be disposed off & final cabin check must then be completed prior to landing . After collecting all materials from passengers then cabin crew must be seated in their respected seats. Now aircraft is ready to land. 34

After landing:

After landing Thanking passengers. Crew change. Airport specific announcement. delay/ connecting flights/ gate number etc special announcements. Cabin crew disembark the passengers. Search again for any personal belongings of passengers. 35

DISEMBARKATION PROCEDURE FOR CABIN CREW Collect the baggages. Clear the immigration. cabin crew get the chance to take the rest in 5 star hotel till his / her next flight. Cabin crew can enjoy the luxuries life in hotel. Enjoy all the comforts of the hotel & the beauty of the destination. 36
