Lakshadweep is the tiniest Union Territory of India and is its only coral island chain.

The Lakshadweep Group of Islands comprises of 12 atolls, 3 reefs, 5 submerged banks with 32 sq.km. of geographical area. There are 36 islands out of which 11 are inhabited. LOCATION Arabian Sea 8º and 12º North latitude 71º and 74º East longitude.

Bangaram Location : 10° - 56* latitude 72° - 17* longitude, located 459 Kms from Cochin. Climate : Warm round the year. Rainfall is limited & the temparature duringmonsoon is 25-27° C. A bewitchingly beautiful & breathtaking island in the Lakshadweep, Bangaram is un-inhabited. It is surrounded by a shallow lagoon enclosed by coral reef. It has been ranked among the best gateways of the world. A matchless sense of well being takes over & one begins to discover the graceful fishes, porcupines, parrots, pufferfishes, hermit crabs & sea birds on the vast 120 acres of lush coconut groves in Bangaram.

Kavaratti is the Administrative Headquarters of the Union Territory. The islands are restricted area and permit from the Administration is required to visit the islands. Lakshadweep islands lie about 220 to 440 kms off the Kerala coast
