What is “E-Rate”?:

What is “E-Rate”? The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund Administered by the USAC Under direction of the FCC Provides discounts to assist schools and libraries in the US obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/oii/nonpublic/erate.html (for detailed information)

Who is eligible for “E-Rate”?:

Who is eligible for “E-Rate”? Discounts for support depend on: level of poverty urban/rural status of population served Discounts range from 20% to 90% of the costs of eligible services. Eligible schools, districts & libraries may apply individually or as part of a consortium Applicants provide end-user resources necessary to utilize the connectivity funded

Sweeny ISD and E-Rate:

Sweeny ISD and E-Rate Sweeny ISD participates in the E-Rate program Eligible for 80% discount Allows funds to be freed for purchase for end-user resources
