Why I choose Enviro Warrior. :
Why I choose Enviro Warrior. I chose Enviro Warrior because I wanted to show that as Maori, we have a responsibility to our whenua.
Enviro Warrior, the Maori warrior for Lake Rotoma.
First I was going to be Tuwharetoa but then Mum and I decided on this Enviro Warrior of Lake Rotoma.
My costume comes under the Lake Rotoma Fantasy section.
Materials :
Materials 1) Harakeke

6) Mum and Dad

8) Black plastic

How we made my costume. :
How we made my costume. Mum and I got some black plastic and made a hoodie.
Mum and I decorated the hoodie.
We cut some flax
We used another black plastic strip and made a puipui which we attached flax strips.
We made a neck lace out of flax and paper.
Dad and I made a patu out of wood.
We then carved designs into the patu.

Explanation :
Explanation 1) My costume is about preserving Lake Rotoma and everything that is in it’s natural environment.
2) I am an Enviro Warrior and keeping our forests, lakes, whenua is our responsibility.
3) We are kaiteaki of our world.
4) We start in our own community and work outwards into wider communities as kaiteaki.
