Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: OTO Development Green Initiative Prepared by L M T Corporation Slide 2: At least 35 states are following in the footsteps of California and are launching “green lodging” programs to preserve precious natural resources and recognize and reward hospitality businesses’ eco-friendly practices. *States in which OTO Development has projects in progress Slide 3: GENERAL OBJECTIVES Meet Green Standards For Projects in Progress & New Construction, Specifically; FL - Florida Green Lodging Program CA- Irvine Green Building Program Slide 4: Meet Requirements without retrofitting for projects in progress Meet Requirements for future construction Considerations Total Cost for Green Materials & Products Quality & Longevity of Green Alternatives Slide 5: Working with Architects, Engineers & Designers early in project development to; Map Green Program objectives Identify Sustainable Sites Identify areas that already meet requirements Meet Objectives through Innovation & Design Source & Identify Green Materials & Resources Conduct “If” scenarios to Meet Remaining objectives While addressing program requirements as early as possible is desirable, this process, depending on your specific requirements, can be started at any point during development. If started early enough requirements “can” be obtained without adding significant cost or requiring retrofitting. Slide 6: Working with general contractors, sub-contractors & Project managers, where the rubber meets the road; Helping you identify, negotiate and contract the right General Contractors, Sub-Contractors or Project Managers to meet your specific needs. Working with the General Contractors & Sub-Contractors to; Understand, Implement, Identify and Procure Green Architectural, Engineer & Design requirements to meet specific Green Program Certification or Program requirements. Slide 7: Florida Green Lodging Program Requirements “The first step to becoming a Certified Florida Green Lodge is to obtain commitment and organization. Activities include obtaining support from top management, forming an active multi-disciplinary “Green Team” (members could include someone from the front desk, engineering, kitchen, housekeep or if you are a smaller property, it may be the owner and maintenance), and operating in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.” Many Sustainable Design programs have similar requirements.
