Check passport validity and length of permission to stay in the UK. Some countries will only issue a visa if you have 6+ months left on your UK visa.
Some nationalities take longer to process

you will return to the UK before that period of leave ends, and
your circumstances have not changed since you were given your permission to stay, you should be able to re-enter the UK
