On The Boat:
On The Boat May 16, 1907 I am on the boat and I am feeling very nervous, but happy at the same time. My sister and brother have lice-yuck! I’ve tried to make some friends but it is difficult because some of the people are from so many different cities and countries. Many people are getting seasick and I am afraid that if we get sick we might die. May 19, 1907 I worry every day that I might not make it through the examination at Ellis Island. If something is wrong with me they might send me back. May 23, 1907 My family and I have arrived and made it through Ellis Island. I hear so many different languages. The name of my examiner is Ms. Murphy. The best thing is that she speaks my language. My mother and sister had just made it through ”Next” said Ms Murphy. Finally all my family maid it through. My family is so happy to see the rest of our family. Now we are all American citizens. We all are very happy to have a better life in America.

My Memory Coat:
My Memory Coat Mrs. Solomon read the class a story about a boy name Geisha. His mother died but before she died she made Geisha a coat from the wool of her coat. Every time he wears the coat he misses his mother. This is a picture of a real immigrant for Ellis Island. I choose this picture because we were learning all about immigrant.
