Nuclear Weapon History in Brief :

Nuclear Weapon History in Brief Nuclear weapons are the most destructive weapons ever made. Building a nuclear weapon was a top-secret project during World War II. Scientists had been working on this weapon—the atomic bomb—for three years by 1945 nobody else, except the president of the United States, knew about this work  Manhattan By 1942, when the Project began, Germany had conquered much of Europe and was out to conquer the rest

Slide 5:

The United States had just joined the war. The United States and its allies (friends) were afraid that Germany would develop an atomic bomb first Germany had already surrendered by the time the atomic bomb was ready But Japan was still fighting the war. To end the war quickly, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan

Slide 6:

The bombs killed at least 100,000 people and destroyed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japan surrendered soon afterward. The nuclear age had begun. 1945
