Slide 8:Ford Factory Square, constructed in 1914 by the Ford Motor Company, stands at the center of the rapidly changing Ponce de Leon Avenue corridor of Atlanta. At the end of Ford Production in 1942, the United States War Department bought the building and used it as an induction, examination and separation center until 1978. Ford Factory Square associates purchased the building in 1982 and restored the structure to include 122 apartments and over 30,000 square feet of retail space. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was recognized for its outstanding design from the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
