5. How did you attract/address your audience ?

PowerPoint Presentation:

How my magazine will attract the target audience This would appeal to my target audience – Sorrel and Ardeshri in particular – as they are both of a lower middle class background so would appreciate the cheap price of the magazine, which would make it more affordable and more appealing to them. This information would appeal to my target audience as they would enjoy going to concerts and gigs, so the fact my magazine features tour dates and venues would be appealing to them, for example Sorrel, as she enjoys this. The cover lines, particularly the list of featured artists, attract the audience as they feature the types of genres of music and artists people such as Sorrel, Aimee and Ardeshri like to listen to. This will attract the audience as they are mostly lower middle class, so the thought of getting a free poster would be appealing to them. Also, Paramore is a popular rock band, therefore they will also be attracted to this.

How my magazine will attract the target audience This information would attract the middle class people of my target audience, such as Aimee, as these are the type of people who would be more likely to purchase a subscription. The copy of the masthead in the background of the contents page attracts the audience as it keeps them reminded of the magazine they are reading and it also looks professional by keeping a consistent house style. Like the cover lines on the front cover of the magazine, the list of articles here attract the audience by featuring artists my target audience will be interested in. It also features articles such as headlines for Reading and Leeds festival, which would appeal to people like Sorrel and Ardeshri, who enjoy going to festivals. The image of Sorrel in the studio fits in with the fact that it is a music magazine, and would attract the reader as it gives them ideas on how to make music.

PowerPoint Presentation:

How my magazine will attract the target audience This main image of the double page spread will attract my target audience as it will give females a group that they can look up to and idolise. It will also give the male audience some eye candy and new girls to fancy. The article would attract the audience as it has a very informal feel to it and appears quite chatty. The girls answer questions in a light-hearted and easy-going way, which would seem more personal to the readers, who would be able to relate more to the girls and see them as real people, not just famous singers. I added some shapes into the top left and bottom right corners to make a simple pattern as this makes the magazine look more artistic and makes it more interesting rather than just plain background. This would attract the audience as they prefer things that are a little different.
