Let’s Review What are the 4 ways to show multiplication? Groups of 4 x 6 says 4 groups of 6 Rows of 4 x 6 says 4 rows of 6 Times I Add 4 x 6 says 4 times I add 6 Times I Count By 4 x 6 says 4 times I count by 6

### Counting By:

Counting By Counting by a number is the fastest way to find the answer to a multiplication problem. You are really good at counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Counting by 3’s and 4’s is where you have problems.

A 3 rd Grader’s Best Friend These are called factors! Factors are the numbers you are multiplying. These are products!

Follow each number from top to bottom or from left to right. What is happening when you go from top to bottom or from left to right from a number? That’s right! You are just counting by that number. Remember if you can count by a number you can multiply.
