ORAL DEFENSE AND PRESENTATION Engr. Lizette Ivy G. Catadman instructor

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS 10 minutes maximum - to set-up your presentation paraphernalia, visual aids, and the venue. 30 minutes maximum – to make the presentation and defend your project.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Panelists are either Registered Electrical Engineers and Registered Electronics and Communications Engineers. Three panelists & the Course Coordinator are present. If a panelist will not show up for any reason, the Course Coordinator will take his/her place.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Panelists can interrupt the talk anytime to make clarifications and throw questions. Panelists may direct questions to the entire group or to specific individuals.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Individual and Group Grading All members of the group/team must participate and be given approximately the same amount of time to talk or present. No monopolizing of talk and defense. All members must master the entire content, details, and workings of the project.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Presentation will start on the second week of September until first week of October. Presentation schedule - posted for reference purposes. Closed door presentation but Dean Molina or some other engineers may join in some of the sessions.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Secure and borrow all the equipments needed for the presentation including computer, LCD projector, extension cords, and etc.

MECHANICS : 

MECHANICS Submit the original print out to the Course Coordinator on deadline. Make three copies of the paper for the panelist one week before the scheduled presentation (Proposal and Final Report).

INSTRUCTIONS Prepare adequately for your presentation. No first and final rehearsals during presentation. Dry-run your presentation and critique one another.

INSTRUCTIONS Conduct Oral Presentation in a business-like manner. Prepare visual aids in PowerPoint but prepare Plan B just in case of complicated technical problems.

INSTRUCTIONS The slides in PowerPoint are free. Don’t cram too much information in a single slide! Don’t copy and paste everything from the content of your paper into your PowerPoint! As far as text is concerned, include only the key points and important entries. Make the text short and concise.

DRESS CODE : 

DRESS CODE Men Long Sleeve Polo Shirt with necktie. Slacks with Belt. Colored jeans are not allowed. Tuck in shirt. Wear leather shoes and socks.

DRESS CODE : 

DRESS CODE Men Make sure you coordinate your attire from the shirt to necktie to pants, to socks, and shoes. Fix your hair. Gel, wax, pomade, or spray net!

DRESS CODE Women Blouse with skirt or blouse with slacks of the same material or texture. No printed and floral prints. No balloon skirts.

DRESS CODE : 

DRESS CODE Women Merely coordinated blouse and skirt or pants are not allowed. Accessories must be appropriate to your outfit. Don’t use bold ones that are too distracting.

DRESS CODE Women Fix your hair away from your face. Ponytail, half-onion, bun, French twist or put it up. Wear enough make-up. Eyes, cheeks, and lips.

DRESS CODE : 

DRESS CODE Women Shoes must go well with your outfit. Preferably, closed-toe shoes. Wear skin-tone stockings when wearing skirt.
