He was the son of a middle class wool weaver and operated and owned a cheese stand which christopher helped work as a young child.Early life: Early life Columbus was working on a lot of ships at the time and one of those ships led him to his wife Fillpa Moniz Perestrelo who was the daughter of a governor and a Portuguese nobleman. They were young and in love and had a child in 1480. They named their new born son Diego Columbus. Five years later it is said that Columbus’ wife Fillpa Moniz Perestrelo died. Columbus did some digging and finally realized his crew and him hadn’t reached the east indies they had found new uncharted land.Leaving Some Men Behind: Leaving Some Men Behind Christopher Columbus and his men had to head back to Spain and tell King Ferdinand the second and Queen Isabella what they had found. Christopher Columbus asked one of the local chiefs on one of the island if he could leave some men here to inhabit the island. The chief agreed. What the chief didn’t know was Columbus kidnapped around ten to twenty five indigenous people and took them back with him to spain as proof for the king and queen.Columbus’ Second Voyage : Columbus’ Second Voyage Columbus left on september 24, 1493. Columbus plan on this voyage was to discover more of the new territories. Columbus returned to the island of Hispaniola on August 19, 1498. There he found that many of the Spanish colonist of the new colony were not very happy. They believed they had been lied to by Christopher Columbus about the all the riches and treasures of the of new world.Columbus fourth Voyage : Columbus fourth Voyage On the fourth voyage Columbus was still looking for the passage to the indian ocean. The fleet sailed into a hurricane and damaged the ships and lost around 30 ships. Columbus still didn’t find the passage to the indian ocean but he did return with a bunch of treasures and a damaged fleet. This ended up being columbus’ last voyageLater years: Later years Christopher Columbus went on to do many great things in his life after discovering the new territories to the west that changed the view that people have on the worldChristopher Columbus Death: Christopher Columbus Death Christopher Columbus died at the age of 54 on May 20, 1506 it is believed from his writings in his diaries that he died of a heart attack from symptoms that represent reactive arthritis.
