Ocampo Ocampo was born to Emilio Ocampo and Delfina Ruiz on April 28, 1911 in Santa Cruz, Manila. also known as H.R. Ocampo H.R. Ocampo was a leading figure in Philippine Modern Art He was also a member of the 13 Moderns led by Victorio Edades H.R. Ocampo : H.R. Ocampo Studied law, commerce and creative writing Was a prolific writer before he delved into visual arts Also worked as an Advertising Executive In the 1950’s, he started taking part in art shows both in the Philippines and abroad. He participated in exhibitions in Washington, New York, Sao Paolo Biennial, and Tokyo. H.R. Ocampo : H.R. Ocampo During his career as a writer, he was among the organizers of a group of young writers, the “Veronicans”, where he worked with other literary greats such as Francisco Arcellana and N.V.M Gonzales.
