Worldwide, there are more than two million children and adolescents living with HIV. : 

Worldwide, there are more than two million children and adolescents living with HIV. All of them hoping to live a normal life

There are an estimated 1.2 million people living with HIV in Uganda, which includes 150,000 children. : 

There are an estimated 1.2 million people living with HIV in Uganda, which includes 150,000 children. Over 1.5 million children have been orphaned – losing one or both parents.

Education in Uganda is difficult. Starting from primary school, the cost of education is often too much. Many children are forced to drop out and find work to feed themselves and their families. :

Youth Caravan is comprised of HIV positive youths dedicated to creating positive change in knowledge and attitudes among and towards people living with HIV/AIDS through education.

David Kiziito My name is David Kiziito. I am HIV positive. I want to finish my education so I can help others.

Senkubuge Godfrey : 

Senkubuge Godfrey Senkubuge Godfrey is my name. I was born on 30th October 1985. I lost parents to AIDS and I was born with HIV. I last went to school in 2004, because I lacked school fees and basic needs.

Tusiime Graham : 

Tusiime Graham My name is Tusiime Graham. I was born on 21st January 1993. My brother and I are HIV positive. I never saw my mother and my father died in 2008. I want to be an engineer.

Alesi Jackie : 

Alesi Jackie I am Alesi Jacquelyne. I am the 3rd born of 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I am HIV positive. Due to lack of tuition, I can not be able to join University.

Jamal Bin Abdala : 

Jamal Bin Abdala My name is Jamal Bin Abdalla. I have one sister and we are both HIV positive. I lost both parents to AIDS and I stay alone. I last went to school in 2007. If I get a chance to go back to school, I want to be a lawyer.

Mirembe Claire : 

Mirembe Claire I am HIV positive and I want to be important to my surroundings through sharing my experience with my peers to reduce HIV stigma and discrimination. My Name is Mirembe Claire. I was born on 14th October 1995. I have a mother but no father.

Namaganda Ruth : 

Namaganda Ruth My name is Namaganda Ruth. I was born on 16th March 1990. I have 2 sisters and I am the only one living with HIV. I want to be a winner in everything I do.

Nansamba Florence : 

Nansamba Florence My Name is Nansamba Florence. I am HIV positive. My mother died in 2004 and my Dad died in 2008. I want to be a computer technician but because I have no school fees, it’s hard for me to pursue my dream. I want to have a brighter future with a happy family.

Muhereza Tiomothy : 

Muhereza Tiomothy My name is Muhereza Timothy. I am HIV positive. I want to continue my education, but I can’t afford school fees. I want to make a change in the world.

Resty Nalwanga : 

Resty Nalwanga Nalwanga Resty is my name. I am the first born and the only child born with HIV. Given the chance, I would love to be a psychologist.

Ronald and Edward : 

Ronald and Edward Our names are Kyobe Edward and Mayambala Ronald. We are brothers and we were orphaned by AIDS. We were both born with HIV . After the death of our parents, our relatives left us with nothing. Our only prayer is that we start going to school. We advise children to love their parents and love God too.

Carol Thomas : 

Carol Thomas Carol was invited to help write a curriculum booklet for an HIV/AIDS youth peer support group. The youth were recently diagnosed and they were patients at a hospital in Kampala, Uganda.  She returns every summer to check on them and sees how she can help them find links with others.
